Accessibility statement
TripPhoto should work for everyone – with a screen reader, with the keyboard only, with magnification or with limited colour vision. This statement covers the website tripphoto.app and the travel sites texas-urlaub.de, land-of-dreams.com, rupixaro.app and camper-usa.de, which run on the same software.
The service
TripPhoto records trips and plans new ones: photos are placed where they were taken, the route is built from photos and recordings, and the result is a trip story with a map, daily stages and figures. The planner suggests routes with sights. The travel sites offer sample routes, climate data, airports, shopping, sports and guides to read – without an account. Your own trips need a free account.
Compliance status
The website is partially accessible. The benchmark is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, as adopted by the harmonised standard EN 301 549. The limitations listed below are known and being worked on.
What is in place
- Every page works with the keyboard; a skip link leads straight to the content and focus is clearly visible.
- Colour contrast of at least 4.5 : 1 for text, in both the light and the dark colour scheme.
- Headings, lists, form labels and messages are marked up so screen readers can read them; error messages are announced immediately.
- Maps are never the only way to the information: stops, places, airports, stadiums and sights are also listed as text on the page.
- Pages adapt to any screen width and can be zoomed to 200 %; animations are switched off when the device asks for reduced motion.
- All content is available in German and English.
Known limitations
- Maps: the points on the overview maps (climate, airports, shopping, sports, universities) can only be selected with a mouse or finger. The same information is in the list below each map.
- User photos: uploaded photos usually have no alternative text. Place, date and description are shown as text next to them.
- Trip film and 3D view: these views are purely visual. The story shows the same content as text.
- Printouts and files: the print view and the Excel file of a plan have not yet been checked for accessibility.
- Third-party sign-in: signing in with Apple, Google and others uses their pages, which we do not control.
How this was assessed
Self-assessment on 19 September 2026: automated testing of the main pages with axe-core (WCAG 2.2 AA) in the light and dark colour scheme, plus manual checks with the keyboard and of screen-reader labels.
